Gorgias pricing explained: what your invoice will actually say

Gorgias prices by ticket volume, $10 for 50 tickets up to $900 for 5,000, plus a separate AI Agent fee per resolved conversation. Here is how both meters work, with worked totals at 300, 1,000 and 2,500 tickets.

Gorgias pricing, as of July 2026, runs on ticket volume: Starter at $10 per month for 50 tickets, Basic at $60 for 300, Pro at $360 for 2,000, Advanced at $900 for 5,000, with per-ticket overage above each bundle. The AI Agent charges separately for every conversation it resolves, and that rate is not on the pricing page.

Gorgias is a capable helpdesk. Plenty of Shopify stores run on it happily. The pricing is the part people misread, because two meters run at the same time: a ticket meter on the plan and a resolution meter on the AI. This post walks through both, with the arithmetic visible, so you can predict your own invoice before you sign.

What are the Gorgias plans and prices?

Four plans, each a monthly price with a ticket bundle. These numbers come from the Gorgias listing on the Shopify App Store and are current as of July 2026.

  • Starter: $10 per month, 50 tickets included, $0.40 per extra ticket.
  • Basic: $60 per month, 300 tickets included, $40 per extra 100 tickets.
  • Pro: $360 per month, 2,000 tickets included, $36 per extra 100 tickets.
  • Advanced: $900 per month, 5,000 tickets included, $36 per extra 100 tickets.

Basic, Pro and Advanced also come as annual plans at a 17% discount, per the same listing. Every plan allows unlimited agent seats. Gorgias meters the work instead of the people, the reverse of the per-seat model Zendesk and Intercom use. Whether that helps you depends entirely on your ratio of tickets to teammates.

Note the block size. On Basic and up, overage bills per 100 tickets. Going 1 ticket over costs the same as going 100 over.

What counts as a billable ticket?

A ticket becomes billable when at least one message in it is sent from your helpdesk. Replies from human agents count, and so do replies sent by AI Agent or by an automatic Rule. An inbound ticket you never answer does not count. A long back-and-forth still counts once. This is Gorgias's own definition in its billing documentation, as of July 2026.

The Rule detail matters in practice. An auto-reply Rule that responds to every incoming email turns every incoming email into a billable ticket, including spam that gets an auto-response. Stores with eager auto-replies sometimes find their billable count sitting well above their real conversation count. Check which Rules send messages before you estimate your volume.

How much does the Gorgias AI Agent cost?

The pricing page says AI Agent is on every plan and that you "pay only when it resolves a conversation". It does not say what that costs. As of July 2026, the per-resolution rate is not published on the Gorgias pricing page. A Gorgias blog post about AI Agent pricing has cited $0.90 per resolved conversation, and $1 on the Starter plan, but the rate that binds you is the one in your order form. Ask for it in writing.

Here is the part to hold onto. When AI Agent resolves a conversation, that conversation also counts as a billable ticket on your plan, because AI Agent sent a message from your helpdesk. Gorgias's billing documentation confirms both charges apply to that ticket. It also confirms the flip side: when AI Agent hands the conversation to a human, only the ticket fee applies. So the resolution fee comes on top of the plan meter, and both grow with your volume.

What does Gorgias cost at 300, 1,000 and 2,500 tickets?

Three volumes, monthly billing, arithmetic first. The helpdesk meter alone:

  • 300 tickets: Basic covers exactly 300. Total $60. Starter would be $10 + 250 × $0.40 = $110, so Basic wins.
  • 1,000 tickets: Basic $60 + 700 extra tickets = 7 blocks × $40 = $280. Total $340. Pro covers 2,000 tickets at a flat $360, so at this volume you sit $20 below the next tier.
  • 2,500 tickets: Pro $360 + 500 extra = 5 blocks × $36 = $180. Total $540.

Now the AI layer. Assume AI Agent resolves 60% of conversations end to end, which is in the range stores reach on routine questions, and use the $0.90 rate from Gorgias's own blog since the pricing page does not publish one. That assumption does real work here, so replace it with your own trial data when you have it:

  • 300 tickets: 180 resolutions × $0.90 = $162. With the plan: $60 + $162 = $222 per month.
  • 1,000 tickets: 600 × $0.90 = $540. With the plan: $340 + $540 = $880 per month.
  • 2,500 tickets: 1,500 × $0.90 = $1,350. With the plan: $540 + $1,350 = $1,890 per month.

Two things follow from the shape of that curve. The AI fee overtakes the helpdesk fee before 300 tickets. And the invoice tracks your order volume, so your November invoice will be the largest of the year, in the month your cash is already tied up in inventory and ads. Questions to ask before you sign

The Gorgias sales process is normal SaaS sales. These questions get you a predictable invoice instead of a surprising one.

  • What is my AI Agent per-resolution rate, written in the order form?
  • What counted as "resolved" during my trial? Ask for the list of resolved conversations and spot-check ten of them.
  • Which of my Rules send messages? Every one of them mints billable tickets.
  • What does my peak month cost? Model November at 2 to 3 times your average volume, on both meters.
  • Does the annual discount apply to overage and AI resolutions, or only to the plan fee?
  • If I turn AI Agent off mid-month, what happens to the resolution charges already accrued?

The flat-fee alternative

Metered pricing has a defensible logic: pay for what you use. It also has a structural consequence: the vendor earns the most in your best months. The alternative is a flat monthly fee sized by volume, where the price does not move within the month.

Nousu, our own product, works that way, so read this section knowing who wrote it. Three flat tiers as of July 2026: €29, €79 and €149 per month, each sized by conversation volume. Going over your bundle never bills overage, so the busiest month costs the same as the slowest. A store at 2,500 conversations a month fits the €149 tier. The same store on the Gorgias arithmetic above pays $540 for the helpdesk meter and $1,890 with AI resolutions included.

Flat does not beat metered everywhere. At low, stable volume the meter can win: 100 tickets a month on Starter with no AI is $30, and no flat tier touches that. Run both models against your busiest month in the support cost calculator, and for the full landscape of AI support billing models, see our AI chatbot cost guide.

Gorgias is one of two big names running a resolution meter. Intercom runs the cleaner version of it, one published rate per resolution with no ticket meter underneath. We took that model apart the same way in Intercom Fin pricing explained.
